ARC Review of Until I Fall by Claudia Burgoa

This was such an emotional and complex romance story. I literally had to keep tissues handy but it was sooooo worth it. This is a story about love, life, family and all that keeps you going when life takes what you care about the most away.
Anderson(Hawk) and Aspen-- Both characters have been through so much and lost so much yet Anderson is willing to take risks ,willing to put himself out there for love whereas Aspen has cut herself off from emotions, from love. Each have had trials and pain in their lives but only one doesn’t want to put themselves out there , wants to stay behind an emotional wall than to rather suffer pain ever again. When they first meet, there’s an immediate chemistry, an immediate connection that pops up between them. Where there were dead embers in Aspen’s heart, now there are suddenly burning embers again. Hawk makes Aspen feel and that scares her and makes her want to run in the opposite direction. Same token, she brings feelings to the fore front that Hawk didn’t think he would ever want to feel which makes him feel out of control. He is worried about being there for Aspen and showing her he means what he says.
There are so many emotional twists, so many turns in this emotional heart twisting story. Hawk was a gentle yet forceful alpha-gentle to Aspen yet forceful when he needed to be. Aspen is a strong person yet had so many demons she is fighting from her past yet he didn’t let that push him away. He was there , waiting because he knew they would be great , that they could have an awesome future together. Aspen had to be the one who admitted what everyone else saw and she had to fight for their future, in more ways than one.
I have so many great things to say about this book but if I continue, I would give spoilers away and that I do not want to do. What I can tell you is if you love your men that are alpha, strong yet gentle, and your women who are independent and strong with some problems that make men want to save them, and two broken souls who can mend one another, then this is the best book you will ever read. Just remember to keep tissues right by you, for you will be a sobbing mess at time but what a lovely way to go.
