SEX! It all started with sex, between my parents. Personally I don’t like thinking about it, but whatever works for you is a-ok with me. No judgment. The sex happened in California and much of my life also occurred in that state until I moved from the land of nuts (almonds), wine, silicon… boobs, and heavy traffic to the southeast US. Like most writers I like to write, but let’s get back to sex. Eventually I married and gave birth to 2 small people-children (boy-6, girl-4 as of this writing). By day I’m a biomedical researcher with focus on rare diseases. By night I’m a knitter, sewer, lino block carver, fabric printer, soap maker, and general crafter. By the wee hours of the morning or when I’m intoxicated I love to listen to the voices in my head and let them tell me stories. I hope you enjoy their stories. My Review:
This is book two in the
Rugby Series and it doesn’t disappoint. “The
Player And The Pixie” is one hot and sexy read. Literally from page 1, the MC (Lucy Fitzpatrick and Sean Cassidy) jump out
and grab you and keep you locked on them. There is this angst, humor, full of
emotions, and sexual tension. I loved the twist and turns in this book.
This is Lucy, Ronan’s sister and Sean , the sexy but blackguard member of
Ronan’s soccer team Rugby team. Lucy has
moved herself to New York recently to start a new job as a celebrity blogger.
Lucy has had a tenacious relationship with her mother and she moved away from
home to get away from all that stress and from her mother so she can find that
peace she is seeking.
Sean is the blackguard member of the rugby team and he has this attitude
–none of the team likes him, including Lucy’s brother. Until Lucy and him meet.
Sean went out of his way to deliberately seek Lucy out but he starts to have
feelings for her. Then he decided to make Lucy his and that is when he went
from wanting to make Lucy’s brother mad to make Lucy his.
The twists and turns the couple go thru are huge. The emotional upheavals
are something that some things I definitely can see some couples go thru but
not all. Sean convinced Lucy to “tutor” him in the bedroom-WOW and Lucy definitely
didn’t see that coming. Soon the sex was hot. Then the teacher became the
student. Sean and Lucy’s relationship went thru this metamorphosis of change. There
is feelings involved and they try not to acknowledge that is the cage until
they have to. Then all heck breaks loose when her brother finds out who she is
sleeping with .
The emotions shown made me want shower Lucy with hugs and let Sean know
all would be ok. I was completely rooting for the MC from the getgo. They had
insecurities and they had fears, just like every regular couple so I was
rooting for them. And this was a different sort of romance because of how Sean
was having Lucy tutor him. I would go into more but #Spoilers—you have to read,
because its hot and sweet and definitely tempting. This is a fantastic followup
to book1 and the ending is oh so perfect.
My rating: 4.7 stars *****
