My Review
This is the 5th
book in the Blue series and it appears to be the final book in the series. From
the new characters introduced, there is a spin off series coming from the
author and that is awesome news..
In the final book, we find
Hayden and Adam who are both managers at
Blue Casino and they do NOT get along with
each other. They have very strong dislike of each other but in this case, it is
a love/hate relationship. Hayden has this agenda which is
to bring down the executives of the casino because she believes they are doing
illegal things, criminal things. Meanwhile Adam is set on proving to his father
that he is executive material and goes out of his way to outdo Hayden at work
and all the while the competition between them becomes heated and the heated
becomes more on the physical side and sexual.
As the book progressed,
things looked like they would work out but not really because as the reader, we
could see this was being set up to fail for our lovers—you could see it coming
from a mile away and as much as I wanted to stop reading, I was compelled to
continue reading. These are two people who really were attracted to each other
in the beginning but had separate agendas . There are so many layers in this
story that I enjoyed reading away the layers. I also enjoyed the dual POV that
is shown so when the love story derailed and exploded, it was great seeing how
they could find their way back to each other.
Hayden and Adam had a lot of
passion, angst, chemistry, dislike and love going on from page one. I so
enjoyed reading how everything changed on a dime and flipped. The twists and
turns that the author put into this story was fantastic. The other characters
that were involved and used their influence on these lovers to help explode the
story is noted and also made this a deeply rich story. The ending is very
fulfilling and I cannot wait to read the spinoff.
