Wow! This novel really
will trip your mind and make you think. It’s a gritty, yet at times erotic read
that does show the realities of what drug use does and what it makes you do. Jagger is the drug lord of Austin and he
is known to most all of “Boss Man” while Miri is the strung out junkie
who crashed onto his lawn , strung out and left to suffer by an ex-boyfriend
who ran out on her. Miri is in a bad place and made a bad decision to crash
into Jagger’s place, but she was so desperate. She was needing some of the drug
from him and she thought he would give her some and she could go on her merry
little way. How wrong she was…
Jagger is known by many as a
cold and demanding, sometimes brutal killer. After meeting Miri, he ends up
doing the unexpected and he brings her into his home and thinks he can save her
from her drug life. Their interaction is spicy and fiery- considering Miri was
strung out on the drug but that didn’t matter. She was able to still have this
connection with Jagger –it doesn’t matter how strung out she comes across. When
Jagger aka Boss, realizes what a gem he has, he decides to keep her for
himself. Oh that’s when the fireworks
start and what a show that is.
This is a gritty and
fantastic love story that is told in a dual POV. It is about two people who are
messed up, but that doesn’t mean they cant fall in love or clean their act up,
as best they can and find their soul mate. We see what is going on with them
and we get to see how they each grow thru the experiences going on and just how
by being around each other, the love and strength they give each other. This is
a true love story , a different type of love story and I loved it. It isn’t not
a HEA and it ends on a cliffhanger so I am dying for book 2 to find out what
happens.
