This is book 2 in the Billionaire Bad Boys series and wow, what a fantastic follow up-- this is billionaire bachelor Reese Crane and Merina Van Heusen's story. Each has wants and in order to get what they need, that's where each other come in.
Merina loves the Van Heusen boutique hotel that has been in her family forever and then she finds out it was sold without her knowledge and it guts her. She is devastated, furious and looking to do what she can to get this back in her family. Then she finds out Crane hotels wants to turn into another blah , so called hotel that you can get everyday hotel that is out there right now. Which drives Merina nuts and she wants to go off on the head of Crane Hotels..
Reese Crane needs to change his image if he’s to obtain his life’s goal which is to become the youngest CEO when his father retires shortly. But in order to do so, he needs to reform his image and when he meets Merina, he sees someone who could help him with that. That is when he comes up with the perfect plan- he marries Merina and they stay married for 6 months and he gives her back her hotel free and clear and he gets his CEO job--sounds like a plan except one thing. The sparks and chemistry between the two.
This is a marriage of convenience story with a flair and what a flair it is-these two MC have such an attraction to one another and it flavors this story. They didn't plan on falling for each other. Merina admits her attraction but Reese fought it and that is what brought the angst. At times, I felt so bad for her- Merina is a spunky heroine , she is smart and at times fragile but I didn't get the oh poor me feeling- I got the feeling she would push thru until she broke and then she would get back up and fight again. Then there is Reese..what an alpha male he was. He had some hidden depths to him and he did fall hard for Merina but he didn't want to tell her. Their love story was ageless and fraught with angst and passion. I loved the twists that came in the story. The ending was beautiful in its complex desire and I Loved how the author wrote their ending. I hope to see how they are doing down the road.
