Southern Playboy is the 4th book in the North Carolina Highlands series by Jessica Peterson. This is Rhett and Amelia's story. They were high school sweethearts until suddenly they weren't. They were one anothers 1st loves and yet they broke each others hearts when things ended. Fast forward 10 years and Rhett finds out he is the father of a 2 year old that was fathered from a drunken one night stand. He is now that child's sole guardian after the mother has died. As for Amelia, her life has blown up all around her and she is trying to figure out what to do next. It's about this time, Rhett and Amelia happen to see each other, see that they each could use someone to talk to and they each talk about what's going in each other's life. That's when they come to an agreement they can help each other out.
This is a slowburn romance that has heartbreak, chemistry, heat, feels, 2nd chance at love, secrets, single dad, twists, romance, and love. You get an NFL hero, nanny heroine, cutie kiddo, the Beauregards, and just a beautiful HEA.
I hope Milly's story is next!!
