They were best friends as kids and dated as teenagers until Louis breaks up with her while she's in high school for his career in the military and leaves Calloway which devastates her. From that point on, her love turns her ashes and she builds up such walls to keep even the thoughts of Louis out and they aren't ever meant to come down for they ard built on pain and heartbreak.
Fast forward to present and Louis is back in Kilgore, out of military and working for SWAT while Calloway is the school nurse. Calloway hasn't yet forgiven Louis. So she snipes and they bicker. Louis is ready to win Calloway back because she's his , his soul mate. It's during the book that we finally find out why he broke her heart in the beginning. Also, someone has started targeting Calloway by killing animals and leaving them for her to find. So buckle up, get ready for the angst, tears, action, excitement, family, friends, suspense, intrigue, passion, forgiveness, romance, twists and turns that completely make this a phenomenal read!! I can't wait for book 6.
