About the Author:
Born and raised around Houston Texas, Jessica spent most of her life complaining about the heat, humidity, and all around pain in the ass weather. It was only as an adult that she quickly realized the cost of living in Houston made up for not being able to breathe when she stepped outside. That's why God created central air, after all.
Jessica is the mother of a perfect little boy--she refuses to accept that he inherited her attitude and sarcastic nature no matter what her husband says.
In addition to being a wife and mom, she's also a wino, coffee addict, and an avid lover of all types of books--romances still being her all time favs. Her husband likes to claim that reading is her obsession but she just says it's a passion...there's a difference. Not that she'd expect a boy to understand.
Jessica has been writing since she was a little girl, but thankfully grew out of drawing her own pictures for her stories before ever publishing her first book. Because an artist she is not.

MY REVIEW:
ready for an emotional and angsty 2nd chance at love story. This is the story i have been waiting for- this is book 4 in the Civil Corruption series and Ms. Prince definitely has hit it out of the park with THE couple the readers have been dying for since book 1.. Mace and Lyla. This is their book with their rollercoaster love story. Everything has been building when we have seen this couple in shades of the stories from Corrupt, Defile, and Consume, but with Ravage , they are front and center- the main centerpieces. Lyla is Mace’s BFF's little sister and she has loved him like totally forever. For so many years, those feelings were not returned and considered taboo because of how young she was (age). But when she got older and then the feelings that she had for Mase then were returned in full force, everything should’ve gotten better, instead things got all messed up between Mase and Lyla. It was messed up to the point that they both ended up moving on but the deep feelings never died even though they were no longer together.
Mace has only ever truly loved one woman but never felt like he really deserved her. He then went to hide his feelings in the bottle. And then he kep drinking to drown the bitterness and dull the voices that made him doubt himself when it comes to him and Lyla. For when he gets a taste of Layla, he craves more but that bottle came between them and ruined them. Now Lyla is back and making an ultimatum regarding the status of their future. Will Mace end up making the right choice, or will he forever be denied the one thing he’s always wanted by making the wrong moves ?
This story is alternatingly heartbreaking and yet bittersweet, emotional, dramatic, angsty, passionate, skyrocketing heat , anger and deep love. You feel their emotions completely and this story is full of heat at times as well.
