My review:
Booted is the 3rd and final book in Pam Godwin's Trails of Sin series and it was such a phenomenal read ! Lorne Cassidy spent the last eight years of his life behind bars after a tragedy completely changed his life. He returned to his home, and for Lorne, it’s difficult to remember the person he was before all went to heck in his life. He was the leader in the Holsten/Cassidy tribe, and now he feels like the elusive fourth wheel after coming home.
Raina has lived a terribly hard life. She’s done what she has to, in order to survive and it’s shameful but neccessary. When she comes back to Julep Ranch, she broken inside but determined. She has yet one mission in her young life and that is to kill Jake and Jarret’s father- the man who caused all her pain and nightmares. She needs help and thats where Lorne comes in. He decides that he will help be the man who will help her seek out her vengeful mission. The sizzling sparks between Lorne and Raina are huge- plus its great to see their friendship develop. Lorne and Raina nuture a mutual respect for each other lives and the choices each other makes. They fight and challenge each other constantly but that’s what keeps them going and moving forward. I so loved their wicked bantering because Raina loved pushing Lorne’s buttons and same goes Lorne for Raina's buttons. She’s sassy and can kick up a storm. Lorne shows that he can show his vulnerability and patience when it comes to Raina. Reason I say that is she has a hard time with showing her emotions well because of what happened to her because of her past but Lorne adapted well and helped Raina to, as well. I hated to see this series end but what a great way for the series to end.
