This was my first time reading Virna DePaul and I really enjoying her book “Filthy Rich”. 

Cara Michal’s father was a hardworking investment adviser when he was wrongfully accused of fraud. That put her family thru a horrifying time and ever since then, Cara has had to work super hard and fight for everything she has ever got to get where she is today. Her father died and her family fractured apart..now she is having to take care of her family and work for a living. She rarely gets anytime for herself. Out one rare night for an evening of fun, she meets Brandon Duke, this super sexy, mysterious man and her body is drawn to him like a moth to the flame. 

Brandon Duke is a self-made billionaire on Wall Street. He buys D&M to help the SEC to investigate the company , not to earn funds. When he meets Cara, he wants her in his bed. When they get closer to each other , suddenly there is a stalker on the horizon who is making noises but they have each other. They are concerned but with each other around, they are willing to stand strong in the face of trouble. These two do not know that they have been involved with each other for years but the twists and turns in this story will be reveled—will Cara be willing to stand strong for a man she is falling in love with? Or will the pain of the past push them apart..

This was a deeply intense, erotic story that had drama, action, suspense all written into the flow of the story. I loved the MC of the story. Brandon was a great ALPHA hero. He wasn’t a bad guy, just a man who had some flaws. I loved how he realized a gem that he had in Cara. And Cara was a great heroine—her past shaped her present and her future. My heart broke for her because of what happened to her and her family but she came out strong and she was a great mate for Brandon. I highly recommend this story for anyone who likes Sylvia Day or Lori Foster. I will definitely purchase this author again in the future.
