ARC Review of Burned Deep by Calista Fox

The book starts off fantastic and continues in such a fashion. I loved that the male lead, Dane is a dominant, dark, handsome and sexual male who is attracted to the young woman, Ari, who works at a hotel as a wedding planner that Dane is at. Something about her sparks this intense attraction, an instant chemistry. Dane finds out alittle later that she put an application in at his hotel and from there the story truly takes off with a twisted tale about two people who were brought together by fate. They fall extremely hard for each other; their pasts were so different- Dane lost parents so his aunt raised him but she too died and that left him alone again at a young age with a lot of money whereas Ari’s parent’s marriage left her really emotionally messed up. She is NOT close to her mom—really NOT close because her mom is EVIL but she is closer to her dad. She fears relationships, and what they can do, the hold they can have on you. These two cannot stay away from other – they end up bringing out the best and at times, the worst in each other . Dane is having some issues with his hotel and because of that, there is the mystery of who is out to hurt him and his hotel and sabotage his relationship with Ari and also putting him and Ari in danger. There were so many twists and turns- several things I didn’t see coming til the very end. I really wanted more with this couple. This wasn’t a HEA, or even a HFN ending. This was more along the lines of a sort of like a cliffhanger ending The couple are together but things are somewhat unresolved. What I can say is this is so good, I am glad to know they have another book coming—this is only book 1 in a new series. And wow, what a great start. It is dark, seductive, dangerous and yummy. All the things I love in my reading material so I highly recommend this new series Ms. Fox *A gifted copy was provided by the publisher for my honest review* My rating: 4.7 stars ****
