Merciless Saints is Book # 1 in the new
St. Monarch's Academy Series by Michelle Heard . The new series is all about the Mafia. Book 1 is about the mafia/crime families that attend St. Monarch's which in bk 1 we get Winter Hemsley and the reason why she had to attend the academy. Once there, she was faced with betrayal, backstabbing, animosity and deception from the students. Winter never thought she'd come to face this from fellow students when she's there to train.
Damien Vetrov is around, training to be what his family is all about, personal protection/assassins, and he is about to be paired with the top assassin and be graduating out of the Academy when a situation occurs with Winter. Next thing happens and Damien is assigned to guard and protect Winter. From two people who definitely not happy about this yet the chemistry sparks between them. Who wants Winter dead? Winter is not about to let Damien protect her, she's gonna take care of herself; but wait. Damien Vetrov is going to own her, protect her and kill for her. Seriously, the heat factor is hot 🔥. The alphaness is amazing 👏🙌😍 There are several twists in a amazing fast-paced romance read. Dirty Working Hero by Penny Wylder is a fast paced, sizzling and quick novella read that takes the reader into on a feelgood romance with Hardin and Millie. It's a bit of a modern day retelling twist of the Romero and Juliet storyline but with Hardin and Millie. I liked how they showed how Millie waa struggling, was getting her hands "dirty" all while trying to find out who she was , what her dreams were, at the same time. The chemistry between Hardin and Millie just sizzles off the pages. This really was a quick read but yes, sparks fly and the chemistry between them is
intensely hot. They share a love for helping others and they really did have tons in common once they got together. Another PW short and sweet novellas.

I really liked the chemistry between Hank and Stevie. He was such a southern man- sweet, alpha and sexy. Then you take Stevie whose this take charge , independent, sassy woman. Oh yes, sparks fly! Theirs was this instant chemistry/connection/lust which develops into more. They each have fears that prevented them from embracing the magic and beauty of their relationship. What did start out as fake , blazed into reality but Stevie wonders if he is playing a game or is truly in it, like her, and involved for real. The chemistry and steamy scenes definitely show how real things got between Hank and Stevie. Do they end up with a HFN ending? You have to experience this story to find out ❤.

My Review:

Reparation of Sin is book 2  in The Society Trilogy by Natasha Knight and A. Zavarelli. This continues Santiago and Ivy' story.  Theirs is still the dark, angsty,  savage, and  fast-paced romance. It picks up where book 1 left off. Without giving too much away, this story is a mafia story, full of retribution,  revenge- but is that being applied to the proper person or the patsy? Gah, Santiago was savage with some of his actions toward Ivy. Cold. ON. Brutal!! My heart broke for Ivy. She was set up by someone in this Secret Society--but who is the person(s) who did this - ahh I didn't expect that twist !  The story had many layers and several twists, turns and ended on an exciting cliffhanger!! I can't wait for book 3!! This story has everything- feels, betrayal,  secrets,  twists,  chemistry,  heartbreak,  deceit,  pain,  grief,  anger,  passion,  angst,  drama,  suspense,  intrigue,  hope, love, vengeance , revenge.... what a great mafia dark romance read.

Narissa and Oliver have such fantastic chemistry together. Oh and the steam that they generated- whew!! There is a good storyline and the ending was great. I can't wait for the next book.

My Review:

Quit Bein' Ugly is the book 3 & the last book in the Southern Gentleman series by Lani Lynn Vale. This is Croft and Carmichael's story. We met these two a little bit in the two previous books and know from in "Lord Have Mercy", we learned about Carmichael's crush on Croft. Croft in LHM didn't seem to really have much of a clue about her sweetheart of a crush. Now in "Quit Bein Ugly" , we get to watch Croft fall head over heels for Carmichael while Carmichael's crush deepens to love. The journey these two take is a typical LLV read full of action,  excitement,  humor, angst,  secrets,  twists,  turns,  some mystery/suspense,  intrigue,  passion, love  with sexy Alpha lead, Sassy beauty Heroine and cast of interesting and exciting secondary characters. It makes for a great read. I was sad the Southern Gentleman series seems to be over. I do look forward to whatever else is next by this author.
